Evaluation: Workshop Materials
We used a range of evaluation methods including the art works made by the PSTs, two focus group discussions, and a mixed-methods survey.
Overall, the students strongly agreed that the workshop materials were useful, interesting, and relevant.
The materials gave them the opportunity to reflect on their knowledge and skills, helped to raise awareness of the skills they already had, or things they had not thought of before.
I was able to link my placement experiences thus far with the content in the workshops… I also learnt tools to help stay resilient as a teacher. The workshops gave me a great understanding of the difficulties that may arise in teaching and how to overcome these problems and work through them.
The case studies were very useful, because I could just see myself in the situation and reflect on my response to the situation.
The PSTs reported that the workshops were appealing. They agreed that the content presented is important in teacher education and they would recommend the workshops to their peers:
