Promoting Resilience in Higher Education
Aims
Murdoch University students were among the first cohort of BRiTE users and the modules had been used in a range of units since 2015. Given that students were already familiar with the modules, our overarching aim was to connect and develop approaches to building teacher resilience at multiple levels. Specifically this involved:
- Implementing an aligned and scaffolded approach to embedding the BRiTE modules an authentic and meaningful way in our Bachelor of Education and Master of Teaching degrees;
- Extending the BRiTE resources by developing additional scenarios based on student-driven critical incidents;
- Developing an additional module - BRiTE Mind; and
- Collaborating with colleagues at the Institute of Professional Learning (Educational Department of Western Australia) to articulate complementary approaches to resilience between pre-service and induction programs.
