Complementary approaches to building resilience
Considering resilience in the profession, we collaborated with the Institute of Professional Learning (Department of Education, Western Australia) to explore development of BRiTE themes into their induction program.
The Graduate Teacher Induction Program runs over two years and aims to support the entry of graduate teachers into public schools by:
Establishing the professional norms of reflection, goal setting, collaboration and continuous learning;
Facilitating the consideration of strengths and areas for growth against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, with a focus on developing effective teachers; and
Supporting the development of a professional identity that builds personal resilience and emotional well-being.
